Ingredients:

  • onion, chopped or minced
  • parsley
  • onion powder
  • turmeric
  • celery seed
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:
1. Mix all of the ingredients together and store in an airtight container.

  • Measuring Cups

Ingredients 

  • ¾ cup onion chopped or minced
  • 3 tsp parsley
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • kosher salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp celery seed

Instructions

  • Mix all of the ingredients together and store in an airtight container. ¾ cup onion, 3 tsp parsley, 2 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp turmeric, kosher salt, black pepper, ½ tsp celery seed
  • Note: About 1/3 cup equals one packet of store bought onion soup mix.

Notes

Makes about 1 cup of homemade onion soup mix.

    Hi Becca. I’m curious. Are the onions in this recipe dehydrated like in the store bought versions? The pictures look like it’s dehydrated. And if we are using fresh onions, I’m assuming we store it in the refrigerator? Thanks for clarifying and thank you for posting this recipe.

    1. Hi Katie, yes – all of the ingredients are dried. If you do need to use fresh onion, I’d refrigerate it :)
