Easy Crock Pot Pork Chops and Pears is a new take on the classic pork chops and apples. This healthy pork chops recipe has no added brown sugar and is 21 Day Fix and Weight Watchers friendly!

This set it and forget it meal is a healthy weeknight dinner recipe that my family loves. Slow cooker pork chops is a great recipe for meal planning and prepping that you can eat all week!

Easy Crockpot Pork Chops with Pears on white plate

Ingredients

  • Pork chops: You can also use pork tenderloins.
  • Olive oil
  • Dijon mustard
  • Thyme: dried thyme
  • Basil: dried basil
  • Chicken broth: look for one that’s low sodium, or you can make your own chicken broth using this recipe!
  • Garlic: I use fresh garlic cloves but you could use garlic powder in a pinch.
  • Onion: I like to use yellow onion for this recipe.
  • Salt & Pepper: to taste
  • Pears
  • Butter: or olive oil. This is optional — you can sauté the pears in butter or oil, or you can add them directly to the slow cooker. See recipe tips for more info!

Crockpot directions

  1. Coat the pork evenly with 1 tsp of olive oil. Salt & pepper the pork to taste.
  2. Optional but tasty step: In a hot skillet, brown the pork on both sides.
  3. Evenly coat the pork with dijon mustard.
  4. Add the pork to your Crockpot and sprinkle on the thyme and basil.
  5. Add the chicken broth, garlic and onion on top of your pork.
  6. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the pork is cooked through and fork tender (tender enough to be pierced or cut easily with a fork). 
  7. Heat 1 tsp of butter or olive oil in a skillet and sauté sliced pears until slightly soft.
  8. Remove pork from slow cooker, top with sautéd pears and serve.

Recipe tips

  • If you’d rather not sauté your pears, you can add them on top of your pork for the last hour of cooking.
  • Pair this with roasted potatoes or this recipe for cauliflower mashed “potatoes” if you’re on a low carb diet.

These easy Crockpot Pork Chops with Pears are a delicious family friendly weeknight meal. If you like Crockpot Pork Chops with Apples, you're going to love this recipe with pears!

Equipment

  • Crockpot
  • Kitchen Knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingredients 

  • 4 pieces pork chops 1 inch thick, can also use pork tenderloins
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp mustard Dijon
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp basil
  • 1 cup chicken broth low sodium
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion yellow, sliced into large chunks

Pear Topping:

  • 1 tsp butter or olive oil (read the directions first–if adding to the crockpot, this is not needed)
  • 4 cups pear sliced into large chunks (about 3 pears)

  • Heat 1 tsp of butter or olive oil in a skillet and sauté sliced pears until slightly soft. 1 tsp butter 4 cups pear
  • Remove pork from slow cooker, top with sautéd pears and serve.

    Paring pork with fruit is always a winner! Since I’m always looking for new ways to cook pork chops, this recipe is happening soon. Can’t wait!

    1. I do not, just the crockpot. I’d cook it at 350 for 20 minutes (depending on the thickness of your pork) and check every 5 minutes after that. :)
