There’s a new cartoon coming to Disney Junior and it’s one of my favorites yet–Mickey and the Roadster Racers! I’m sharing a fun race car snack that you can eat while you’re watching the premier episode on Sunday, January 15 at 9:00 and 9:25 a.m. EST!
Take a look at the new show:
In addition to Mickey’s gang, you’ll get to hear voicing by some amazing stars, including NASCAR stars Jimmie Johnson, Danica Patrick and Jeff Gordon, television personality Jay Leno, Tim Gunn, Gordon Ramsay, Hoda Kotb, and more!
We had a chance to sit down with the Producers of Mickey and the Roadster Racers, Mark Seidenberg and Rob Laduca, and they had a lot to share about the series! Both Mark and Rob were born animators–they started drawing and doodling when they were young and haven’t stopped since.
When looking towards developing a new show starring Mickey, Mark and Rob asked what the most popular Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show was–to give them an idea of a direction to go. Hands down it was Mickey’s Road Rally! Of course, this is when they decided to create a racing themed show.
The Producers expanded on that favorite episode, and gave Mickey a classic hot rod. It was his normal car from Clubhouse, and it turns into a classic AmericanRoadster. Goofy’s personality warranted a bathtub car, with a ton of plumbing fixtures. Minnie is elegant and into fashion, so she got a bow car. Watch the video above for more on each character’s car!

Not only did we get to meet Mark and Rob and screen the new show, we were also there when Mickey’s new costume was unveiled!

Here’s how to make this fun Mickey Race Car snack to watch the first episode of Mickey and the Roadster Racers with!
Race Car Snack Ingredients:
Regular size Oreos
Mini Oreos
3″ lollipop sticks (cut longer sticks with diagonal cutters if necessary)
1 square of vanilla candi-quik (or use candy melts or white chocolate chips. 1/4 cup should be sufficient)
Apples
Grapes, washed and dried
Toothpicks
Directions:
1.Place one square of candi-quik into a ziplock bag and seal shut. Place bag into a hot cup of water and let set.
Open large Oreos and place them on a flat surface. The easiest way to open the Oreo is to twist the two cookies apart. Leave the frosting in the center of the large Oreo.
Twist apart the small Oreos and use a knife to scrape away the frosting.
Knead your bag of candi-quick to be sure it’s melted. Use scissors to cut a small corner of the bag in order to make a piping bag.
Pipe white chocolate onto the frosting of the large Oreo and place a lollipop stick on the Oreo.
Place the top of the Oreo on the stick and press gently down. The stick should push into the icing and the cookie should go back to “normal.”
Repeat until all Oreos have a stick. Be careful when you push that you don’t break the Oreo in half. If you do, it’s okay, you can use the other side as the “front” of the Oreo.
Add 2 ears to each Oreo using candi-quik to attach. Set aside and place all Oreos in the refrigerator to set up.
Meanwhile, cut an apple into 8 slices.
Catch Mickey and the Roadster Racers Sunday, January 15 at 9:00 and 9:25 a.m. EST. Episodes will also be available on the Disney Junior app and Disney Junior VOD beginning Sunday, January 15, and on iTunes beginning Monday, January 16.

Can we get these snacks shaped as Danica Patrick’s and Jeff Gordon’s heads too? Love the idea! Also, I think Mickey’s ears might create drag that’s hard to overcome, at least on the superspeedways.
