I was playing around on Pinterest the other night and – wait. You’re not on Pinterest?

Really?

What do you do with all of your free time if you’re not on Pinterest?

Anyway… {you should get on Pinterest!}

I saw this:

Portable LEGO Tray

A portable Lego tray by Jaime at ThatsMyLetter.Blogspot.com.

We are at a Lego standstill in this house.

They have taken over the house, and I need it back.

I need to walk into Jack’s room without a 2×2 poking into the bottom of my foot.

Portable Lego Trays! He can make something… and then set it aside!

Go head over to Jamie’s blog if you need directions – I just wanted to share some cute photos. They’re from my phone, so be kind.

We made this awesome Portable LEGO Tray last weekend! It was a pretty easy DIY project, and one that is perfect for a LEGO lover!

Did I mention that we decided to do this outdoor project on a 100* day? It was so hot, but so worth it. Jack was thrilled and we even made an extra for one of his friends. These trays are super easy to store, as they lay flat, and you can easily keep your projects neat and tidy.

Jack used the nail gun to put the trays together. Yes, we were super careful and he was thrilled to be able to help us with this LEGO trays.

I disassembled my weights so the LEGO bases wouldn’t be bubbly. The glue wanted to make the plastic sheets pop up. The weights worked well.

Awesome….so, I am not on Pinterest….were you talking to me? LOL. I know, I know, but I’m afraid if I get on it, I’ll never make it out alive!

Anyway, my husband is soooooo not handy and we don’t have those tools, but Max would be all over that idea/project (and I would, too) if he did!

That would make an awesome idea for bday gifts for his Lego building friends. I am always on the hunt for a gift that is clever and fun but won’t make the parents hate me for getting their kids more cr*p! LOL

  7. These are fantastic! I can see into my future and see my 2 boys needing something like this in the future. Stumbled upon you through PBD and happy I did. I’m a SLP too! :) Before you took a break what setting were you working in? I work in acute/outpatient peds but looking for a change. Feeling burnt it out but really would just love to work at home.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Mindi!!

I was in a middle school working with 6-8th graders. I’m actually going back for 2 months next school year because they couldn’t get a replacement until September. I love working with the students, and the teachers are amazing.

      :)

  8. What a great idea. I wished this was around when my boys were young! It would have helped keep in the peace!

    1. Thanks, Kim! I was excited to stumble across it on Pinterest!

If it makes you feel better, there is still no peace in this house… :-/
