Smoothies.
We love them.
You can easily hide fill them with healthy ingredients and they are a quick on-the-go option for meals.
I recently started using the Hamilton Beach Smoothie Smart blender, and I love that it has a smoothie button to help take the guess work out of blending these yummy creations. For me, that means it’s really easy for my 9 and 13 year old boys to make their own smoothies.
This chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie is Michael’s favorite. We always add protein powder so we feel a little better about him wanting these every day after school. All in all, it’s not a horribly bad snack. And for those nights when Mom is craving a milkshake, this is a great substitute.
Ingredients for this chocolate smoothie:
- ice
- banana
- milk
- unsweetened cocoa powder
- chocolate syrup
- peanut butter (or if you’re like my 13yo, just add half the jar)
- Some optional ingredients are protein powder or a handful of spinach or kale.
Add all of these ingredients to your blender and blend. If you have the Smoothie Smart, that means push one button and walk away! I’m truly loving this blender. This month is Smoovember at Hamilton Beach! Head on over to their Facebook page for some amazing recipes and giveaways!

Every morning I make a smoothie with strawberry, banana, almonds, oatmeal and non-fat vanilla yogurt (plus a drop of milk to thin it a bit). It’s delicious and wonderfully filling!
We really need a new blender! My favorite smoothie has always been strawberry banana, but the one you posted sounds amazing! I’ll be trying that soon!
Blueberry and banana
My husband spoils me with green smoothies in the morning. They must have vegetables in them because they’re green, but they taste so sweet and yummy!
I like simple yogurt and strawberries and banana, but usually add a bunch of blueberries so my kids will like it (I have a three year old obsessed with the color blue!) :)

strawberry banana.
This exact smoothie, but make it green with spinach. Close second is any type of berry smoothie.

Blueberries, banana and soymilk smoothies are my favorite
We need a new blender – ours is leaking!
My favorite smoothie is strawberry, mango, apple juice, spinach, and flax seed.
Love this! I’m always curious how other people smoothie (can that be a verb?). I shared my daily morning smoothie process on my Breakfast of Champions post- but I also have an after-gym favorite: Ice, half a banana, skim milk and a spoonful (or 2) of crunchy PB. It always hits the spot after a workout.
I love strawberry mango smoothies.

I like Micheal’s idea – and I would totally do the half a jar of peanut butter too. :)
On a side note – I love seeing your cups of drinks you make because the chocolate on the side in a swirly design makes it look all kinds of pretty.
