Here in Tucson, Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) is quite a holiday! We celebrate with a huge festival and a parade, and it’s wonderful to celebrate those that we have lost instead of mourn them. I wanted to share some coloring pages and a story with you to print and color–of course, they’re great for adults as well as kids!
Print a few pages, grab your colored pencils (need a Sugar Skull pouch? My friend Niki at Niki Holladay Designs has them here), and get coloring!

Hi! I’m Mexican and think it’s awesome that you´re interested in our culture :) My daugther loved coloring your story book. Fun fact, on november 1st we celebrate the children who passed away and on the 2nd we celebrate the adults. We pray for our loved ones, and put in the altar their pictures and their favorite food, also we put the things they liked, like toys and candy for kids and cigarretes or drinks for the adults. And every part of Mexico make different kinds of altar, here in Campeche and in Yucatan we make an special tamal called pibipollo, and we put cempasúchil flowers for them.
