Healthy Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew Coffee

Fall is here and that means all things pumpkin are here. Here in Arizona, I think the temperatures are still a bit too warm to enjoy hot coffee so this Healthy Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew Coffee is my go-to drink.

The price tag, sugar content, and lack of a true dairy free option at Starbucks sent me to my kitchen to create an equally delicious and less expensive, healthy, dairy free option.

I recommend enjoying this cold brew with these Banana Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies or a slice of this Whole Wheat Oatmeal Banana Bread. If you’re all about fall and Halloween, I recommend making these easy Coffin Pop Tarts while you’re sipping your cold brew!

My Favorite Fall Drink!

I love playing with flavors in my kitchen, and the popular Starbucks drink had me curious… so I created this healthy version of Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew with Cold Foam. I hope you love this taste of fall in a cup as much as I do.

Enjoy!

Ingredients in Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew

See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.

Ingredients in white and clear bowls that are needed to make this healthy pumpkin cream cold brew with cold foam.
  • Oat milk: I prefer oat milk because it is the only dairy free milk that froths like cows milk, and frothed milked is a must for cold foam at home. I’ve tried using coconut or almond milk and it doesn’t froth as well.
  • Pumpkin Puree: Canned pumpkin puree can be found in the baking aisle of most grocery stores year round. You want the one without extra ingredients–simply real pumpkin in a can.
  • Maple Syrup: Be sure and buy a pure maple syrup, not an artificially maple flavored syrup.
  • Vanilla Extract: Be sure to find pure vanilla extract, not imitation vanilla or baking vanilla.

Recipe Tips

  • I prefer using a handheld milk frother. You can pick them up for less than $20 on Amazon. You can also use an immersion blender, or just whisk your ingredients together with a handheld whisk or fork. Using an immersion blender will give you that thick whipped-cream texture.
  • For a delicious taste, top your drink with pumpkin pie spice–thank me later ;)

Why should I make my own pumpkin cold brew?

Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew nutrition says a grande (16 ounce) consists of cold brew coffee sweetened with vanilla syrup, topped with a pumpkin cream cold foam made from heavy cream, milk, and simple syrup (sugar) amongst other not so healthy ingredients. How can I make the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew less calories?

Making this copycat Starbucks cold foam recipe at home gives you the same 16 ounce serving and only includes 66 calories, 1 gram of fat, and 11 grams of sugar. While this is still a treat, it’s one that your body will thank you for.
