Why I Love This WW Chicken Salad

This versatile recipe is so satisfying because it’s filling, a little sweet, and a little salty. The nuts give it a great crunch, too!

Enjoy!

A white counter top with several romaine lettuce leaves, a scattering of walnuts, and 8 bowls of ingredients needed to make Weight Watchers Chicken Salad with Grapes.
  • Chicken: For this WW chicken salad, I prefer to make rotisserie chicken at home or this crockpot whole chicken. You can also get store bought rotisserie chicken, or bake chicken breasts in the oven.
  • Grapes: Red or green grapes both work great in this recipe — or use a mix for extra color!
  • Apples: I like to use a firmer apple, like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, as they tend to hold their shape better than other, softer varieties.
  • Greek Yogurt: Greek yogurt packs twice as much protein and about half the amount of carbs and sugar as regular yogurt. Plain, non-fat Greek yogurt is best for this recipe.

Step 4: Serve on lettuce, make a salad and use this as a topping, or use it in a healthy chicken salad sandwich–it’s up to you!

Recipe Tips

  • You can omit the fruit (grapes or apples) or nuts to reduce carbs, calories or points, though you will lose some texture and sweetness.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. I like to press a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the salad to minimize air exposure and reduce browning of the apple pieces.
  • Since fat-free, low-fat, and whole milk yogurt all have different WW points, make sure to calculate based on the exact ingredients you’re using.

WW Chicken Salad FAQs

How do you calculate Weight Watchers points?

I use the online recipe creator feature at Weight Watchers Online. It’s a great resource for making sure you have the most accurate calculations! For the most accurate counts, use your exact ingredients and brands, not the nutrition info from recipes. Adding any ingredients to this recipe is going to add extra points, so be sure to recalculate.

Why do you use both mayonnaise and yogurt in WW chicken salad?

This recipe uses a combination of olive oil mayo and plain, fat-free Greek yogurt to reduce the fat and calories you’d get from using only mayonnaise. If you choose to use regular mayo or full-fat yogurt, the fat content will increase slightly, though the saturated fat will still remain relatively low. If you’re using light mayonnaise instead, be sure to recalculate the points in the WW app to keep your tracking accurate.

Why do you add fruit and nuts to chicken salad?

Using the grapes and apples adds sweetness that can cut out cravings later in the day, but dried cranberries or any other dried fruit work as well. Removing the fruit from this recipe will reduce the carbs quite a bit, if that is a concern of yours.

Healthy Eating Plans

Weight Watchers Points

When made with fat-free yogurt, olive oil mayo, and boneless, skinless chicken breasts, each serving comes out to 3 Points on the 2025 WW Plan.

If you change this recipe at all, you’ll need to recalculate the points for yourself to make sure they’re accurate.

Notes

I prefer to chill my chicken salad in the fridge before serving, but it’s not necessary. I even think it tastes even better the next day!

    1. Hi Terri!
If you just joined you’ll want to look for our points labeled 2023 plan points. Weight Watchers didn’t name their new point plan so we’ve coined that term :)
The other plans you’ll notice (blue, green, purple) are old plans that some of our readers may still be following.
      I hope that helps!
