I know I’m going to need this one day.

On September 1, 2011 I realized (and was embarrassed) that my 11yo knows all of the words to “Last Friday Night” by Katy Perry.

I heard him say the word hickey and asked, “Do you know what a hickey is?”

Michael: “Yeah, it’s gross. It’s when you suck on someone’s skin and it turns purple. Dad told me. Why would someone do that? It’s nasty.”

Exactly, Michael. Nasty. So, we’ll never have this conversation again, right?

;)

LOL! I think it’ll be hard for him to get past you with hickeys on his neck…. I don’t see a lot of kids wearing turtlenecks in Arizona!

  2. Ha!! Better he found out from dad than his friends right?! After teaching middle school, I realized middle school friends share the nastier version of everything!

  3. Her video is pretty funny too (not good for kids though). I’m with Michael – eww, grody to the max ;)

Haha that reminds me of a funny story. When Josh and I were first dating, he got really sick and ended up in the hospital. He had a bunch of hickies on him (:-X) and I didn’t have the guts to tell them they were hickies so they tested him for Hanta Virus! LOL!

  5. You wait…I remember middle school vividly, especially the first boy/girl birthday (7th grade) and school dances (around 7th grade too). Coaching middle school age boy’s baseball, it surprises me what they know at 10-12 compared to what I knew at 10-12…sheesh.

  6. I can’t wait till the blog post when you sharing the proof with him again :)

  7. Well, at least he didn’t ask what a ménage à trois was…that’s in there, too. :)

  8. hehehehehe I love that kid!

I never understood that entire concept anyway, with hickeys…why would you want one? Why would you want to give one? Doesn’t make sense to me.

So gross. I totally agree with Michael. Smart kid, that one!
