Living a healthy lifestyle can sometimes be difficult. When you have fast food right in front of your face every day, or feel like you could really go for that extra cup of coffee or even worse–when your sweet tooth comes calling.

However, there are ways to get through the day using tricks or hacks for those times when staying healthy gets a little difficult. Health Hacks can take a little bit of the challenge out of working to be healthy. No excuses, right?

It's the little things... like these 10 Health Hacks. Easy to remember, and they help you stay focused on your goals.

20/20/20

We spend a lot of time with a device be it a computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone or television. However, staring at a screen all day is bad for the eyes. To help, follow the 20/20/20 rule. The rule means for every 20 minutes you stare at a screen, you should look at something else for 20 seconds and choose something 20 feet away.

Eat Right

Obviously, eating healthy is a great way to stay, well, healthy. Though there are ways you can make an unhealthy meal a little healthier. The idea is to focus on the food and how you eat it.

If you’re cooking, cook in a good mood–listen to relaxing music, take your time, drink water instead of a soda, sit at a table and eat your favorite food first instead of last. Following these steps will make you focus on your actual hunger levels and stop eating when you’re actually full.

Public Transportation Choices

We all can’t walk to work, so instead we take the bus, or a train, or even an Uber. Next time you rely on public transportation, create a new habit for yourself. Get off the bus or train or out of the Uber a block or two away from your destination and walk the rest of the way.

Alarm to Sleep

Set an alarm for when you want to be in bed by every night. Follow that alarm and make sure you’re in bed when the alarm goes off. Next, try and set it for an hour earlier than you usually go to bed. More sleep will always equal a happier you.

Step by Step

This one is a common hack that many of us follow already, but if you’re not, it’s time to get on board. Take the stairs instead of an elevator. If you’re traveling up to the 50th floor, then take the elevator up to a few floors below, and use the stairs for the rest of the way.

Wine or Beer

There are a ton of studies that have different conclusions when it comes to alcohol consumption and our health. So instead of getting frustrated with the results, balance it out. Pick a few days out of the week to make alcohol-free free days.

Water Instead

While headaches can come about for many different reasons, one of the most common is dehydration. If you have a headache, try drinking more water before taking a pain reliever. Water will always be healthier than a pain pill.

End The Bloat

Bloating is part of life and is something some of us just deal with when it comes about. You don’t have to though. Sometimes a mug of dandelion tea helps to cure that bloated feeling.

Oranges

Oranges have vitamins and are always a great choice when you need a healthy snack, but there is another reason you need more oranges in your life. Studies have shown that smelling an orange can help get you in a better mood. The smell relieves anxiety, increases alertness, and makes you feel better.
